INSTRUMENTS Harp The Harp Development Committee are con- tinuing with their work and will report to the 2017 AGM. Early Childhood Education (SECE) How to adapt the SECE curriculum for Europe was discussed and agreed. The Guidelines can be found on the SECE page of the ESA website. Mandolin A pilot project for a Violin-Mandolin Conver- sion Course initially up to Level 1 was pro- posed and agreed. Accordion The Suzuki Accordion Project is now ready to proceed to the next step of setting up a com- mittee within the ESA region to assist with the project. Clarinet Work continues on the development of Suzuki Clarinet with plans to form a study group with 4 and 5 year old children. CHANGES to ESA TEACHER TRAINING & EXAMINATIONS MANUAL 2016 Revised edition of the ESA TT & Exam Manual is available on the ESA website . http://digital-e-brochures.com/ EuropeanSuzuki/TTraining2016/ Now in e-Book format with search facility. Please make sure that you are familiar with the changes . ESA will not be able to issue Exam Certifi- cates for Teacher Training Courses and Ex- aminations which do not follow the proce- dures set out in this manual. SUMMARY OF CHANGES Page 6 Teacher Training Courses Addition to page 6, new point no. 5 Time Span A minimal time span of 8 to 10 months be- tween the first session of the Course and the Examination is recommended. Page 10 Examination times Increase minimum time for Level 3 Examina- tion from 30 to 45 minutes. Pages 12,13,45 The ESA Board has delegated responsibility to the Instrument Committees for assess- ing applications and appointing Instructor and Teacher Trainers throughout the year. Page 13 Procedures for applications from Viola Teacher Trainers to become Violin Teacher Trainers and vice versa . Page 20 ESA Syllabus 1.10.13 Level 1 should be taken as a separate exam at a separate exam sitting . Page 30 Appendix C1 Examiner Fees Examiner Fees have been reviewed and the whole of C1 Appendix has been changed Page 46 - Applications for Violin Instructor may present a degree in Viola but have to show 10 years teaching experience in Violin with qualifications in Level 1 through 5 in Violin. - Applications for Viola Instructor may present a degree in Violin but have to show 10 years teaching experience in Viola with qualifications in Level 1 through 5 in Viola. Page 47 National Suzuki associations are invited to submit a reference on Instruc- tor applications on the basis of their knowledge of the applicant as a teacher ESA ANNUAL MEETINGS The ESA is taking its Annual Meetings around the region to a different country every year. The Board of the ESA are keen to have the opportunity to invite each National Suzuki Association and its members to: - attend the AGM - organise a students concert - meet the ESA Directors The ESA Administrator will work closely with the National Suzuki Association to select a venue and organise the meetings and concert.
