19 2024 Teacher Trainer Appointments I have been incredibly lucky to grow up surrounded by music and nature. My father, a Spanish Jazz Pianist, made music present 24 hours a day. My mother was from northern Norway, where contact with nature is closer and it is easier to perceive the energy that underlies everything that surrounds us. From a very young age the Violin became my life companion. I received a traditional education at the Madrid Conservatory, with the immense luck of having a teacher who always motivated me. I came into contact with the SUZUKI Method in 2000 in Denmark, watching a workshop in Aarhus organized by the most exciting adventures of my life. One of the things I value most about the Suzuki community is the relationship with other colleagues. Thus, closing the circle with which I began my training in Denmark, Jan Matthiessen asked me if I would be interested in becoming an instructor. My school in Malaga became the host for Isabel Morey’s Teacher Training courses and I was lucky enough to assist her, little by little helping to increase the number of Suzuki teachers in the south of Spain. The SUZUKI philosophy has truly changed my life and I see that trough my own children every day. I am aware of how lucky I am to be a Suzuki mother and a Suzuki teacher! Tove Detreköy. At that time, I spent my professional life playing in orchestras, but I also had students in a music school in Norway. Thanks to the interest of the management of this music school in Aalesund, I began my training as a SUZUKI Teacher with Tove Detreköy and had my first Suzuki students. Many years later I returned to Spain to work as a teacher at the Malaga Conservatory, working with students of different ages, always inspired by the principles of the SUZUKI philosophy. One of my big dreams was to be a Suzuki mother and it was then that I realized that in the south of Spain there were no SUZUKI teachers, so I resumed my training with Isabel Morey Suau and started the “MalagaViolinSuzuki” project, which over time has grown and through which I have been able to live one of Ingrid Jensen Alcalde VIOLIN, SPAIN
