PROCEDURE FOR PROCESSING INSTRUCTOR APPLICATIONS
1.
The Instructor Application Form should be completed and sent to the ESA Office with all
supporting documents and DVD
a.
Letter of application
b.
Resume
c.
Copy of Degree, ESA Level 5 and Level 1 Certificates
d.
Three references from an ESA Teacher Trainer, a Parent and a non-Suzuki musician

If an exception to the criteria outlined in Appendix D2 is requested (e.g. if the candidate does not
have 10 years teaching experience covering all Levels of the Suzuki repertoire), a formal letter from
the national Suzuki association is required outlining the specific reasons for such a request.
3.
The deadline for applications to arrive at the ESA Office is 31st December.
4.
The application is registered by the ESA Office and then sent to the relevant ESA Instrument
Committee for assessment.
5.
The National Suzuki association will be informed of those applications received from Candidates
resident in their country and they will be required to submit a recommendation addressed to the
Instrument Committee and sent to the ESA Office.
6.
The ESA Instrument Committee will submit the application to the ESA Board Meeting held in March
for approval
7.
The Candidate will then be informed of the outcome by the ESA Office.
a.
If approved, a letter of appointment is sent by the ESA Office. The appointment is not valid
until confirmed by the ESA.
b.
In cases where the application is rejected, the Candidate must be given specific reasons for the
rejection.
i.
The Candidate should be given the opportunity to address the areas of concern and have
the option to reapply.
ii.
If the Candidate considers that the reasons given for rejecting the application are not fair,
he/she may appeal to the ESA Board of Directors within 3 months after the date the
decision was communicated to him/her.
